What this website collects
You can read everything on this website without giving us your name, your email address or any other personal detail.
No accounts
This website has no login, no member area and no payments. It does not set a login cookie and does not keep a database of visitors.
The communication checks and the starting-point assessment
When you submit the Pattern Check or the Style Test, your answers are sent to our server once so the result can be worked out and shown to you. We do not store your answers or your result, and they are not linked to your name.
So that you can see your last result again, it is remembered in your own browser, on your own device. It is not sent to us. You can remove it with the "Forget this result" button on the Communication page, or by clearing this site's data in your browser.
Technical data
Like every website, ours keeps standard server logs, including your IP address and browser type. This is used for security, error monitoring and reliability. We do not use it for tracking or profiling.
Email
If you write to us, we keep your message and your address for as long as we need them to answer you and follow up.
If you had a member account on this website
Until October 2026 this website offered member accounts. Those accounts are closed and their data is no longer used. If you had one and want confirmation that your data has been removed, email privacy@calmcareacademy.com and we will do it within 30 days.
Why we collect it and our lawful basis
Under GDPR and applicable data protection law, we process the data above on the following bases:
- Legitimate interests: Technical logs are processed to keep the website secure and reliable, and analytics to understand which pages are useful. We have assessed that this does not override your rights.
- Your request: When you submit a communication check or write to us, we process what you sent in order to answer you.
How long we keep it
- Answers to the communication checks: Not kept. They are used to work out your result and then discarded.
- Technical logs: Retained for up to 90 days for security purposes, then deleted.
- Email: Kept while we are in contact with you, and deleted on request.
Who we share it with
We do not sell personal data. We do not share it with advertisers or third-party marketing services.
We use the following service providers to run this website:
- Web hosting provider: Stores the website files and the server logs. Operates under a data processing agreement with us.
- Google Analytics: See the next section.
The short films on this website are played from our own server. No video platform is involved.
Cookies and analytics
This website does not set any cookie of its own.
We use Google Analytics to understand how people use the site — which pages are visited most, where visitors leave, and how we can improve it. Google Analytics sets its own cookies to tell one visit from another and collects aggregated usage data such as pages viewed, time on site, and general geographic region. It does not collect your name or email address, and it does not see your answers to the communication checks.
We want to be completely transparent about why: we are a small team, and this data helps us understand what is working and what needs improvement. We do not use advertising cookies, retargeting pixels, or any other third-party tracking. We do not sell or share analytics data with anyone. Your browsing activity on CalmCare is never used to serve you ads anywhere.
If you prefer not to be included in analytics, you can install the Google Analytics opt-out browser extension, which works across all websites that use Google Analytics.
Your rights
Depending on where you are located, you may have the following rights regarding your personal data. To exercise any of these rights, email us at privacy@calmcareacademy.com.
- Access: You can request a copy of the personal data we hold about you.
- Correction: You can ask us to correct inaccurate data.
- Deletion: You can request that we delete personal data we hold about you. We will action this within 30 days.
- Portability: You can request your data in a structured, machine-readable format.
- Objection: You can object to processing based on legitimate interests. We will assess your objection and respond within 30 days.
If you are in the European Economic Area and believe we have not handled your data correctly, you have the right to lodge a complaint with your national data protection authority.
Data transfers
CalmCare is operated in the United States. If you visit from the European Economic Area or another region with data transfer restrictions, the technical data described above will be transferred to and processed in the US. We take steps to ensure appropriate safeguards are in place for such transfers.
Changes to this policy
If we make material changes to this policy, we will say so on this page before the changes take effect. The date at the top of this page reflects when the policy was last updated.
